Miguel Says ‘Black People Are The Most Judgmental’ Via Twitter Rant
R&B crooner Miguel made headlines again, but this time it wasn’t for his fancy pro wrestling moves. Over the holiday weekend, the singer took to Twitter and said that he thinks Black people are more judgmental than other races. The slander he caught in response to his tweets was nothing short of relentless. Miguel Jontel Pimentel‘s father is Mexican and his mother is Black, so his weighty statement did not shock fans who knew his heritage. However, the tweets were met hundreds of responses, and many are not fit to print. “Im proud of my heritage but honestly, black people are the most judgmental people in the world. Sh-ts sad man,” tweeted Miguel yesterday (May 27). “[W]e’ve been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves.”
Foreign Exchange singer Phonte (of Little Brother fame) was amongst the many that checked Miguel for his loaded statement, prompting the “Adorn” artist to respond. “This tweet is adorned with irony,” said Phonte. Miguel responded with, “[D]amn homie. Misquoted me, then tried and play me? If you don’t agree, that’s cool but that’s blasphemy. Expect better from you.”Ok, then. Miguel deleted some of his responses to those who took umbrage with the star’s words but tried to smooth it out towards the end.
