Well, whether it was true or not, everyone wanted to be the very first to break the story, and we guess what happened in the end was, that people hurt the very person they wanted to be happy for. Not good.

Iron Man 3 surpassed the billion dollar mark in the worldwide box office Thursday (May16), $300 million of which was brought in domestically. The third installment of the blockbuster flicks led by Robert Downey Jr., reached the milestone in just 23 days. Becoming the 16th film to gross $1 billion, Iron Man 3 cost $200 million to make and is the most successful in the series. The film easily edged out its predecessor, which grossed $623.9 million in global ticket sales three years ago. Iron Man 1 bowed out with $585.2 million. More than 50 percent of its success comes from overseas, with the film doing well in China, Korea, Mexico, and the U.K. Additionally, Iron Man 3 has become Vietnam and Malaysia’s top grossing film of all time. Domestically, Iron Man 3 has held the top box office spot since its May 3 release. The addition of Baz Luhrmann‘s glitzy-adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s The Great Gatsby boasted healthy competition last week, grabbing a $51.1 million debut, but faltered compared to the Marvel-studios produced film’s $72.5 million gross.
Over the years, getting legendary NBA head coach Phil Jackson to compare Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant was damn near impossible. But in Jackson’s forthcoming new book, a memoir titled Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success, he does just that. Basically, it seems like the Zen Master gives the edge to Air Jordan.
On their skills as team leaders:
“Michael was more charismatic and gregarious than Kobe. He loved hanging out with his teammates and security guards, playing cards, smoking cigars, and joking around,” Jackson said in the book, which was obtained in advance by The Times.
“Kobe is different. He was reserved as a teenager, in part because he was younger than the other players and hadn’t developed strong social skills in college. When Kobe first joined the Lakers, he avoided fraternizing with his teammates. But his inclination to keep to himself shifted as he grew older. Increasingly, Kobe put more energy into getting to know the other players, especially when the team was on the road.”
On their defense:
“No question, Michael was a tougher, more intimidating defender. He could break through virtually any screen and shut down almost any player with his intense, laser-focused style of defense,” said Jackson, who coached Jordan to six championships and Bryant to five.
“Kobe has learned a lot from studying Michael’s tricks, and we often used him as our secret weapon on defense when we needed to turn the direction of a game. In general, Kobe tends to rely more heavily on his flexibility and craftiness, but he takes a lot of gambles on defense and sometimes pays the price.”
On getting buckets:
“Michael was more likely to break through his attackers with power and strength, while Kobe often tries to finesse his way through mass pileups,” Jackson wrote. “Michael was stronger, with bigger shoulders and a sturdier frame. He also had large hands that allowed him to control the ball better and make subtle fakes.
“Jordan was also more naturally inclined to let the game come to him and not overplay his hand, whereas Kobe tends to force the action, especially when the game isn’t going his way. When his shot is off, Kobe will pound away relentlessly until his luck turns. Michael, on the other hand, would shift his attention to defense or passing or setting screens to help the team win the game.”
Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success is in stores Tuesday, May 21.

I have had many blessed, spiritual, and unforgettable moments in my life… But none more inspiring and life altering than last night. For those of you have ever listened to my music as a full body of work, heard any of my interviews, or have been to any of my live shows… Knows, that Lauryn Hill is a driving force of inspiration in everything I do. There would be no first audition for me if couldn’t sing her version of “his eye is on the sparrow”… There wouldn’t be “Felony Miona”… There wouldn’t be the artist you see today who isn’t afraid to bare her soul about life and love. And last night, I got to tell her that. After seeing her murder the stage…I personally got to express my teary eyed gratitude. A REAL dream come true for me. Lauryn Hill is the true essence of artistry that I aspire to represent… One who can break barriers, colour lines, industry standards, and ignorant minds… All while making amazing heartfelt educated music. My life will never be the same… It will be better… For what I received last night in energy and inspiration will most definitely make me a better artist and woman in this industry. You will feel it. Thank You #LaurynHill… You are singlehandedly, hands down, the greatest to ever do it ALL… Triple Threat… And to inspire a musical generation so starved that we still anticipate any and everything that you will do in the future. With Love, Respect, Support and Gratitude, MF xo
