Luke Still Angry At Diddy & French Montana

Luke Still Angry At Diddy & French Montana

Miami bass legend Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is still steaming over the fact that French Montana sampled his early 1990s hit “I Wanna Rock” for his hit track “Pop That.” Despite not owning the rights to “I Wanna Rock,” Luke says he was offended by the way Diddy handled the situation.

“Ok, let me tell you how it all went off. In the beginning Puffy told me to come to do a video shoot in Miami on Memorial Day last year,” Luke said in an interview with Hot 97. “I asked, ‘What video shoot, to what song?,’ because I work with a lot of kids. They never told me the name of the song nor did they ever send me a copy of the song. So they were basically trying to set me up to be a part of a video shoot to a song that had me appearing on it. Second of all, these guys had press conferences – this stuff is all online – and this guy is sitting here saying, ‘Hey I just did a song with Uncle Luke and all these other guys on the song.’ So we’re seeing this information online and seeing all the press conferences, and I’m thinking like, ‘What song did I do with this guy? I really don’t even know the guy.’ So they did the video and that’s why I didn’t appear in the video, because I wasn’t going to appear in anything I didn’t hear or know anything about.”

Family Of Emmett Till Want Mountain Dew To Drop Lil Wayne Over Lyrics

The trouble between Wayne and Till’s family began when a leaked version of Future’ssong “Karate Chop” hit the net in February. “Pop a lot of pain pills/Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels/Beat that p*ssy up like Emmett Till,” Weezy raps in the song.

Till was brutally murdered in 1955 at the age of 14 in Mississippi for allegedly whistling at a white woman by the name of Carolyn Bryant. Bryant’s husband Roy and his half-brotherJ. W. Milam took Till, who was visiting from Chicago, from his uncle’s home to a barn where they beat him, gouged out his eyes and shot him in the head. They later tied him to a cotton gin fan and tossed his body into the Tallahatchie River. He was found three days later. When his body was returned to Chicago, his mother insisted his casket be left open so the world could see the brutality of his murder.

Epic Records, Future’s label, reached out to the family. Chairman and CEO LA Reidpersonally apologized during a phone call and promised to pull the song and remove the offensive lyrics. Wayne still has not issued an apology to the family. Now they are preparing to try to convince Mountain Dew, a product of PepsiCo, to drop the rapper according toAllHipHop. A similar outcry by UltraViolet resulted in Rick Ross losing his endorsement deal with Reebok.

French Montana Admits That His Music Isn’t “Lyrical”

French Montana has expectations of himself but also knows his limitations. Rather than set a high standard for himself, he is well aware of how he’s found success. Montana has no problem boasting about how great his Excuse My French debut will be but went a step further in stating what we already know. “Obviously I don’t be trying to get lyrical,” he told ExclusiveZone.net. “It’s not a secret.” Since he’s not hung up on content, the  Coke Boy’s  hitmaking process is pretty simple. “I just make music out of love and feeling. I wake up feeling f—ed up, I make a f—ed up song.” So far Montana’s method has been pretty successful. He’s jumped on numerous hits singles in the last year, and earned his own gold plague for “Pop That.” His highly anticipated debut is set to drop May 21 and will feature appearance from the likes of  Rick Ross, Diddy, Reakwon, Birdman, and Ace Hood.

Rick Ross & Lil Wayne Music Pulled From Radio Station, Rozay Apologizes For Offensive Lyrics [Video]

It hasn’t been a good public relations year for Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, with both men under fire for lyrics that many say crossed the lines of decency. One radio station has responded to the popular rappers and their questionable output by pulling their music off the air.

WUVS -103.7 in Muskegon, Mich. has taken a stand against Rozay and Weezy, speaking against Wayne’s ill-advised use of Emmett Till‘s name in a punch line for a remix of Future‘s “Karate Chop” single. The station also checked Ross on his alleging date r@pe on Rocko‘s buzzing single “YounEEnKnoIT,” as well, in a released statement.

From WUVS:

Effective immediately Muskegon’s WUVSlp 103.7 the Beat has pulled ALL Lil Wayne and Rick Ross music from rotation.  We pride ourselves on playing music that is non-degrading and non-violent. While we believe in freedom of speech, creative writing and individualism, we refuse to be part of the problem by spreading messages that could harm or end someone’s life.

According to a report from theGrio.com, two major petitions have been launched by activists using Change.org and RapRehab.com as their platforms. Rap Rehab founder and music rights activist Paul Porter addressed the situation in a comment. “The problem is not only with the content and date r@pe, but the problem is that it goes through a corporate structure,” Porter told theGrio. Several other stations are said to be following WUVS in pulling the Rocko record from playlists. Lil Wayne’s verse was edited and an apology was issued by his record label.

Jay-Z Is Working On A New Album [PHOTOS]

hova2

Lately, photos have been popping up of Jay-Z in the studio with various A-list rap names and producers. The question most people immediately ask: “Is Jay-Z working on album.” The short answer: “Duh.” Most recently, Hova was snapped in the studio with Rick Ross, Timbaland and DJ Khaled. Previously, he’s also been spotted in the lab with Swizz Beatz and Mike Will Made It. The common denominator in the pics so far is Timbaland, who recently signed up with Roc Nation. But no one has said a word about what, if any, songs were actually being recorded. However, the truth is Jay-Z has been working on a new album since before the release of his collaborative Watch The Throne project with Kanye West in 2011. He said so, when the writer of this story got an early preview of said album along with select outlets. At the time, Jay-Z relayed that he reached out to Frank Ocean to record a tune for a solo album, and was so pleased that he wanted the Odd Future crooner to contribute to WTT (“No Church In The Wild,” “Made In America”). For now, the best confirmation that an actual release is near, besides Jay-Z granting a media outlet an interview and saying, “Yes, my new album will drop on…,” will be when the “On To The New One” rapper is seen about town rocking a nappy afro. Last time that happened, when he was again rocking a crispy Caesar it signaled the completion of the WTT album. Hova probably dropping a new album in 2013 brings us to another stark reality. Jay Electronica, who Jigga signed to Roc Nation back 2010, has yet to release his debut album, Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn).

Allen Iverson, Rick Ross & Tyga Cover Slam & XXL’s Kings Of The Game Mag [PHOTOS]

kings2

Basketball publication Slam and Hip-Hop publication XXL have collaborated to create a special one-off magazine called Kings of the Game. The cover subjects of the new issue are Allen Iverson, Rick Ross and Tyga. It’s not a coincidence that the A.I., Rozay and T-Raww cover the mag since they all have ties to Reebok, the brand that sponsored the issue.

Says XXL:

While you might not think that SLAM and XXL have much to do with one another, rap and basketball has always interacted with a mutual love and respect – as seen at weeklong events like the NBA All-Star Weekend – and spill over into one another when it comes to fashion. Hip-hop fans love to look fresh with clean kicks just as much as basketball fans and players do.

To celebrate looking good and embracing fashion and footwear in both hip-hop and ball, XXL and SLAM have joined forced to create (for the first time ever) a custom Kings of the Game issue, featuring Mr. Rack City Tyga, Miami boss Rick Ross, and all-time NBA great Allen Iverson – all brought to you by the storied Reebok brand.

The collector’s edition mag will be in stores in NYC this week and nationwide next week. Maybe Swizz Beatz will be on the next one?

Bow Wow Ordered To Pay P0rn Star $80K

Bow Wow is going to need all of his BET’s 106 & Park salary. The YMCMB rappers has been ordered to pay $80K to a French freaky flick star. It’s not what you might think.

TMZ reports.

A-dult film star Celine Tran — known as “Katsuni” — sued Bow Wow back in July 2012, claiming he stole clips of her pole dancing in a music video for a French band called Electronic Conspiracy and then used a ton of the footage in his music video “Drank in My Cup” … sans permission. Bow Wow didn’t even respond to the lawsuit, so a federal judge ordered him to pony up $79,346.07 (damages + attorneys’ fees) … and stop with the footage STAT. Sad part is … for $80k … he never got to see her naked. Check out the videos. They’re fun.

Bow Wow dropped that “Drank In My Cup (Freestyle)” video, his version of Kirko Bangz‘s hit song, back in April 2012. Blame the video director? While “Mr 106 & Parks” debut album as a member of Young Money has yet to materialize, he recently dropped a mixtape titled Greenlight 5 with features from Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and more, along with production from DJ Mustard, Jahlil Beats and Drumma Boy.

Wale Reveals Plans To Release 2 Albums In 2013 [VIDEO]

Wale recently sat down with Mina SayWhat of Philly’s Power 99 to discuss his Folarin mixtape, as well as what fans can expect from him in 2013. One thing the MMG rapper revealed was his plan to release two projects before year’s end, one of which will be the Jerry Senfeild-assisted Nothing. “I’m dropping my third solo album first, and then a couple months after that I’ma [sic] probably drop the Nothing project,” said Wale, who neither denied or confirmed whether the latter would be a mixtape or another full length LP. He also spoke on what fans can expect from his album sonically. “It’s going to have one sound. It’s very, very soulful, and ‘Bad’ is a pretty good indication of the direction that I’m going for this particular project. It’s a little nostalgic, a little vintage, but the music and the sounds will make you feel on this album.” Wale kept the lid sealed on the features and production credits that will be on the project, because “a lot of things change.” Considering that the lyricist admittedly “over records” for his projects these days, it’s safe to say that fans can expect a lot of loose tracks to drop as the album’s summer release date draws near. See Wale speak more on both projects, and the whispers about the gradual change in his musical content in the full interview below.

Lil Wayne Could Care Less About Uncle Luke’s Opinion Of Him [VIDEO]

Lil Wayne is still on his honesty tour. Late last week, the rapper called into Miami’s 99 Jamz, to talk about sleeping with Chris Bosh‘s wife, and blasting the entire Miami Heat team. The move resulted in a blog post from Miami native Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell. Campbell called for Rick Ross to put Weezy in line, and when asked about the rant, and backlash from the city, the New Orleans native didn’t really care. “I can’t change nobody’s personal opinion. I can’t change nobody’s personal view,” he said. “I can just keep doing what I do and keep putting food on the table for my family and that’s what I’m going to do, no matter what.” Although he hasn’t read Campbell’s commentary, Wayne is aware of how the former 2 Live Crew leader,  and others in the city, feel about him. “Ever since I got out here there were billboards saying ‘Lil Wayne go back home,’ and I never did anything.”  felicia Monet, the DJ interviewing Wayne,  denied ever seeing said billboards. Backlash or no backlash, Wayne has no plans of leaving Miami, because it has too much to offer. “This is Miami, I can’t move. Ya’ll got the best skate weather ever, down here. The main thing I really want to get out there is that I do apologize for the misunderstanding to the city of Miami. I love everyone here, it’s just I’m passionate about sports and I felt very disrespected, that’s all. I felt very, very, very disrespected.”

2 Bench Warrants Issued For The Arrest Of Suge Knight

Just because he allegedly squashed beef with Snoop Dogg does not mean Suge Knight isn’t up to his old tricks. Not one but two bench warrants have been issued in California for the Death Row Records founder’s arrest.

 TMZ got the scoop:

Suge was SUPPOSED to be in court Thursday … regarding two cases — one from 2011 and one from 2012 — when cops busted him driving on a suspended license … of all things. He was sentenced to 3 years unsupervised probation for one of the incidents. The other was still pending. But now, a rep for the L.A. County Superior Court tells TMZ … Suge was a NO-SHOW at a recent court date for both cases. We’re told the judge immediately issued two bench warrants — one for $5,000 and the other for $30,000 — which means cops can arrest the music exec on sight.

While the Death Row glory days are long gone, Knight’s current gig is managing troubled comedian Katt Williams. Missing court dates isn’t the best example to give his comedian client, who has had well documented issues with the authorities himself. Also, last year, Knight threatened to “beat the dog sh-t” out of Rick Ross since the Maybach Music Group rappers rolls with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Old school sneaker connoisseurs will be happy to hear of plans to retro the Reebok Shaq Attaq in its original colorway. The news came courtesy of Swizz Beatz, who hosted a press conference at PROJECT Las Vegas yesterday to unveil the shoe. Shaquille O’Neal himself came through in support of the release, and discussed the widely heralded sneaker, his illustrious basketball career, his history with the Reebok brand, and even his brief stint as a rapper. Rapper and Brand Ambassador Tyga, who’s known to sport a pair of retro kicks, also made a cameo appearance during the festivities. The Young Money star was in town to debut his T-RAWW Reebok snearker, plus to meet fans. Another popular shoe in the Reebok Shaq signature line, the Shaqnosis, was also highlighted during the press conference, but no word was given on its proper release date. Since assuming a consultative role at Reebok, Swizz Beatz has undoubtedly made a large impact on the brand. This includes facilitating an endorsement deal with MMG’s Rick Ross and re-releasing Allen Iverson‘s iconic shoe, the Reebok Question, in highly sought colorways. The Shaq Attaq will hit select retailers April 19, including Jimmy Jazz, Shiekh, Villa, City Gear, DTLR, Shoe Palace, and on Reebok.com, and will retail for $160.

Luther “Luke” Campbell Calls For Rick Ross To Set Lil Wayne Straight For Disrespecting Miami

Luther "Luke" Campbell Calls For Rick Ross To Set Lil Wayne Straight For Disrespecting Miami
After Lil Wayne has words for the NBA’s Miami Heat, Luther “Luke” Campbell says Weezy is disrespecting his city. He also asks what Rick Ross and DJ Khaled are going to do about this.

Recently, Lil Wayne caused a stir when he asked a crowd of fans to scream obscenities directed at the Miami Heat and the NBA. He went on to say that he had sex with Heat player Chris Bosh‘s wife, though in a more derogatory fashion. Longtime Miami representative Luther “Luke” Campbell was deeply offended by Wayne’s comments and he wrote a blog about how fed up he is with Weezy. In his blog, Luke explains that Lil Wayne “treats Miami like his bitch because people let him.” He also says that this would have never gone down during his era, recalling that Dr. Dre had to cancel concerts in Miami as a result of their feud. Furthermore, he asks what other Miami artists are going to do about it, saying Rick Ross and DJ Khaled need to set Wayne straight. Luke’s entire post against Lil Wayne’s treatment of Miami can be read below, courtesy of his blog at Miami New Times.

Miamians are mad as hell at rapper Lil Wayne because he said fuck the Heat, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh on Sunday at a nightclub party in Houston. Lil Wayne even claimed he had sex with Bosh’s wife. That was way out of line. However, don’t blame Weezy for talking trash. He has no respect for the city because people in Miami’s entertainment industry — from local radio DJs to South Beach nightclub promoters to the Heat’s front office — spread their legs for him and every out-of-town celebrity who rolls through town. Lil Wayne treats Miami like his bitch because people let him. When Weezy claimed he was thrown out of the Heat home game versus the Lakers, the franchise tried to downplay the incident, saying they only asked him to leave and he left on his own. That was a bitch move. The Heat should have followed the Oklahoma City Thunder’s lead. Last year, Oklahoma City representatives told Lil Wayne to take a hike when he asked for courtside seats to one of the Thunder’s playoff games against the San Antonio Spurs. The

Miami Heat should be giving court-side seats to the city’s true local hip-hop heroes, like Trick Daddy and Betty Wright.
Stars can call up the Heat and get a free front-row seat or have nightclubs give them free tables and bottles of liquor whenever they want. Lil Wayne gets away with it because venue promoters are desperate to get mentioned in the gossip blogs and magazines. Local record label owners and radio station programming directors are also guilty of brown-nosing these interlopers. Up-and-coming local artists like Alyric, K Kutta, Blaze, and YD can’t get their songs played on the radio because the stations are too busy playing shit from Cash Money Records. When the radio people get some balls and stop acting like groupies, they will stop playing Lil Wayne and company’s music. Hell, I want to know what Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and all these so-called 305 rappers who hang with Lil Wayne have to say about him disrespecting our home team. They need to set Lil Wayne straight. When you disrespect Miami, you can’t be allowed into any arena, restaurant, club, or even McDonald’s to get a burger. And you better not show your face in the hood.

None of this bullshit would have happened under my watch. In 1992, when I had a beef with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, they had to cancel a concert in Miami. For years, they couldn’t set foot in the 305 because it was so hot. Suge Knight had to come down and smoke a peace pipe with me. We also kept it real at the old Miami Arena, where I had season tickets from the first tip-off on July 13, 1988. I sat in the fourth row behind the basket near former Miami City Manager Joe Arriola. For a game against the New York Knicks, filmmaker Spike Lee was sitting in front of me. It was right after he trashed me on The Arsenio Hall Show. Joe and I cussed him out during the entire first quarter. Arriola ended up getting thrown out, but Spike didn’t come back for the second half. I’m gonna have to come out of retirement because Miami’s entertainment industry has gone soft. I’ve got no problem telling Lil Wayne where he can go. Wayne’s original beef with the Miami Heat stems from a recent game where he claims to have been thrown out for rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers. He also claimed that the NBA banned him, a claim that the NBA has since refuted. Luke has been outspoken on his blog in the past, most recently warning Rick Ross to “squash beefs.”

Gospel Songwriters Sue Dr. Dre, Jay-Z & Rick Ross Over “3 Kings”

JayZ, Rick Ross, Dr. Dre

Gospel songwriters are suing Rick RossDr. Dre and Jay-Z over a sample on “3 Kings.” Of course, the lawsuit, which was filed by Clara Shepherd Warrick and Jimmy Lee Weary, also names producer Jake One and Universal Music Group. Warrick and Weary own the rights to 1976’s “I’m So Grateful (Keep In Touch).” They say that the lawsuit is about more than just the sample but also about how it connects them to a song that is against their values. “The video includes very graphic depictions of drug use, vulgarity, nudity, gun violence, criminal conduct, actions demeaning to women and many other items that are certainly inconsistent with Plaintiffs’ wishes for how Plaintiffs’ song would be portrayed,” the lawsuit says, according to All Hip Hop. They even believe that giving Ross a Grammy for his work with the song would cause “irreparable harm” for their brand “worldwide.” “Once the Grammy Awards are broadcast, the listeners will be alerted to existence of Plaintiffs song, at which time it will be subjected worldwide to irreparable harm of being linked to defendant’s song.”

Weary is listed on Rick Ross’ album as a writer of the song. However, Weary says he was never contacted for permission. He also says he was not paid for his work. As a result, Warrick and Weary are suing for copyright infringement, unfair trade practices, unfair competition by misappropriation, conversion and unjust enrichment. “3 Kings” originally made headlines for pairing three of the biggest names in Hip Hop. With Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Rick Ross on one track, the song generated interest once it was announced. Many other emcees, including Brother Ali, have also remixed the song, which was produced by Jake One.

French Montana Says Excuse My French Will Be The “Album Of The Decade” [VIDEO]

French Montana has been hard at work with his debut album under Interscope RecordsExcuse My French. While artists usually set high expectations for their albums, Frenchy doesn’t pull any punches with how he feels his record will be received by the public. “I feel like it’s going to be a classic,” French told Rap-Up while on the set for “Ocho Cinco.” “I feel like it’s going to be the best album to come out in a decade.” “It just is, I heard everybody’s album. I’m a fan of everybody, but I don’t think anybody came out with an album like this,” French reiterated as the reporter asked him to clarify his prior statements. While Sean “Diddy” Combs and Rick Ross are co-executive producing the record through a joint venture from Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music, the “Pop That” rapper also enlists the help of Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd , Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and M.I.A. He is only waiting on a collaboration from Lana Del Ray.

JoJo Simmons Disses Juelz Santana On "Holy Water"
Jo Jo Simmons responds to Juelz Santana‘s shot on “Soft.”Juelz Santana fired a shot at JoJo Simmons on his recent track “Soft” featuring Rick Ross and Meek Mill. On the track, he spits, “Far as that dough goes? I’m Russell Simmons, you Jo Jo,” a line to which JoJo has taken offense. Young Simmons has released a response track titled “Holy Water” where he goes in on the Dipset rapper, claiming that the industry has “forgotten” about him and that his barb was disrespectful. “Now how you gonna mention my uncle Russell / Then disrespect his nephew / The industry forgot you / Fucker, you nothing special,” he raps. “These niggas hate to love you / Simmons will not let you / Compare your money to my money, boy that’s disrespectful.” He continues, “Why you have to call my name / Thought you retired / Boy, that little bit of fame you had / That shit had died / Tryna ride Ross’ dick to get a hit, you high / Sniffin’ lines in the studio, tryna come up with rhymes.”

Fabolous Nears Completion Of “Loso’s Way 2,” Reveals Collaborations

Fabolous Nears Completion Of "Loso's Way 2," Reveals Collaborations
Fabolous gives a progress report on his upcoming album “Loso’s Way 2.”

Fabolous hasn’t released a studio album since 2009’s Loso’s Way, but he’s nearing completion of its sequel Loso’s Way 2. During an interview with Billboard.com, the chip-toothed rapper said that he’s “80-85% done” recording the LP, which he says will feature a “mixture of producers.” “I’d say it’s 80-85% done,” he said. “I’d even give some of that 15% to working daily until I’ve got to turn it in. You may come with a record that’s urgent, that has to be on that project, the day before you turn in.” Like with Loso’s Way, which featured a slew of guest stars including Jay-Z, The-Dream and Lil Wayne, the Brooklyn, New York native doesn’t plan on straying from a feature-heavy formula. For Loso’s Way 2, Fab has nabbed guest features from Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Future, Young Jeezy and more. “I’ve worked with a lot of guys. I’m not even sure which songs are going to make it or not yet,” he explained. “But I’ve worked with Chris Brown, of course. I got Rick Ross, John Legend, Future, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Chrisette Michele. I’m just thinking of names off the top. I’m still working on piecing it together and making it sonically fit. I even got a text today and was speaking to Nas about doing something as well.”

Pusha T Discusses “Wrath Of Caine,” Working With Rick Ross

Pusha T Discusses "Wrath Of Caine," Working With Rick Ross

Even though fans will have to wait a while longer before he drops his Kanye West-approved solo debut My Name Is My NamePusha T has been steadily working on a new mixtape Wrath of Caine. Now, in a recent interview withMissInfo.TV, Pusha Ton gives fans a glimpse into his anticipated project. According to the Virginia rapper, Wrath of Caine is a collection of lyrically-driven street anthems, comparable to the music he with his brother and Clipse cohort No Malice. He explained that when approaching the tape, it was most important for him to go with his gut and make the music that he would like to hear. “Wrath of Cain is basically just me catering to my core. It’s all about just street Hip Hop, street music” he described. “It’s just something that I like to do. It’s something that I feel like has no boundaries, no parameters. I can do what I really, really want to do…[my approach to the mixtape is] not about more of a creative [decision], I just think it’s about more of what I want to hear for myself and what my fans want to hear. They want to hear lyrics, they want to hear street [music]…it’s just the whole street life perspective.”

Pusha went on to discuss his recent single off the tape “Millions,” which also features Rick Ross. The G.O.O.D. Music emcee said that the song is an ode to the street life, and has an energy to it that’s long been missing from modern Hip Hop. “‘Millions,’ it’s basically an ode to dope boys and stash spots; it’s just an ode to that energy,” he said. “I’m trying to make music and recreate that energy that I feel was missing in Hip Hop, [the energy] like you roll down your windows, you hop in your car and you front until you pull up to the club. Right now, that energy is sort of missing to me, and I feel like ‘Millions’ is a prime example of what that is.”

Chief Keef Sued By Middle Schooler For Child Support

Chief Keef’s 2013 is already off to a suspect start and it just got worse. The 17 year-old rapper is being sued for a child support by a woman girl who is still in middle school. The exact age of the plaintiff is unspecified, but the “I Don’t Like” rapper allegedly fathered the child a couple of years ago. TMZ reports:

The girl filed the petition for child support in Chicago, claiming Keef — real name Keith Cozart — fathered a baby daughter with her back in 2011.

The girl’s exact age is unclear, but according to the docs, she currently attends a Chicago middle school — meaning she was .. at MOST … in 8th grade when she conceived the child, but could have been in 6th grade.

Cozart — who has since worked with Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross — was 15 at the time.

The kicker is that in the state of Illinois it is a misdemeanor for two people under the age of 17 to have s-x, consensual or not. But, it is unlikely that charges will be pressed. The girl is seeking an undisclosed amount of money for child support, health insurance and medical expenses. However, Keith is currently serving a two month sentence in a juvenile detention center for violating his parole. The violation? Conducting an interview at a gun range and holding a rifle. Chief Keef had a child at 16, a daughter, that he fondly shares pictures of on Instagram. He infamously tweeted images of the child support paperwork for his little one, though. Two things for Keef to do in this situation. One, call Maury Povich and get a paternity test, stat. Two, if he is the father, do the right thing and handle your business. That’s it.

French Montana Cites Max B As Inspiration, Talks Surviving Gunshot Wound & Fatherhood

French Montana Cites Max B As Inspiration, Talks Surviving Gunshot Wound & Fatherhood

French Montana has certainly had his share of success in the past year, signing a deal with Bad Boy and Maybach Music Group, while landing collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and more. Still, French hasn’t forgotten his source of inspiration, which also serves as a cautionary tale. “My best friend (rapper Max B) is serving 75 years in prison,” said French in an interview with USA Today. “Only one of us made it. I think about all this when I make music, of all the sacrifices made. Nothing is just going to come to you, you have to make it happen.” The rapper also recalled surviving a gunshot wound to the head in the Bronx. “I try not to bring that memory back. I’m glad I made it through that time, but, yeah, that experience was part of the album.” Finally, French Montana spoke on how he intends to raise his son, who is now three years-old. “Kids who have everything grow up thinking that everybody owes them,” he explained. “I want him to grow up like me. I want him to struggle a little so he knows how to be a man. I’ve got to leave him in the desert, and when he gets older, he’ll understand why his father left him like that.”

Cam’ron Reportedly Stiffs Concert Promoter For $7,000 For Performance

Cam'ron Reportedly Stiffs Concert Promoter For $7,000 For Performance

Whether it’s no-shows from Nas and Rick Ross or impostors pretending to be MF DOOM, there are countless horror stories of live Hip Hop shows gone awry. Now, according to HipHopWired, one Brooklyn promoter says Cam’ron stood him up at a performance to the tune of $7,000. Lou Galluch, a party promoter based in Brooklyn, alleges that the Dipset emcee accepted money to perform at Galluch’s annual New Year’s Eve party “The Shanks,” but never showed. Galluch says that he lost a total of $7,000 over the failed performance. According to Galluch, he was able to book Cam’ron for the event for $8,000 through a mutual contact. However, one day before the party, Galluch’s contact had to leave town on family business and referred him to Cam’s DJ Moe Sticky to complete the business deal. “So I meet [Moe Sticky] that next day [Sunday], and I said, ‘Bring the signed contracts and I’ll give you the money,'” Galluch told the Village Voice. “He shows up with no contracts, and I have the money. This is the day before New Year’s, everything is happening. Promotion has gone out, pre-sales are coming in…and they show up with no contracts…[my original contact says,] ‘Yeah, [Cam’ron]’s gonna show, give [Moe] the money.'” Following the exchange, Galluch gave Moe Sticky a $3,000 deposit with the assurance that Cam would show at the event. However, when it came time for the Dipset rapper to hit the stage, he was no where to be found. Galluch recalls that Cam’ron was supposed to hit the stage around 3 AM; however, the venue wasn’t packed at that time, and Galluch requested that Cam wait until 4:30 AM to perform. Moe Sticky reportedly agreed to the new terms, but only if Galluch gave him another $2,000 of the performance bill. When it came time for the Purple Haze rapper to hit the stage, however, Galluch claims that Cam’ron, Moe Sticky and company had left with the money in tow. Moe Sticky tells a different story, however. The DJ claims that Galluch was supposed to give him the rest of the money prior to the performance, but only had $2,000 at the time. Moe Sticky added that the initial $3,000 was part of of a standard $4,000 deposit for Cam’s performance. As of now, Galluch has no plans of following through with a lawsuit and doesn’t blame Cam’ron himself for the situation. via:hiphopdx
